Memphis, Kansas Top AP Top 25 (1-28-08)

This week's AP Top 25 (1-28-08) was released today. Unlike last week, there aren't really any big surprises in the rankings, nor are there many teams that have leapfrogged up or plummeted down in the rankings.

The only relatively big news is that Tennessee (following their upset loss at Kentucky) has dropped from #3 to #7. Unbeaten Memphis is ranked #1 for the second straight week and unbeaten Kansas has moved up to #2.

Duke jumps up to #3 and North Carolina moves up one slot to #4. Plus, UCLA has returned to the top 5.

By the way, congratulations to Drake. Last week Drake debuted in the Top 25 at #22. This week, Drake has moved up to #16.

Bucknell will win it all

Roidy Droidy,

I'm glad you recognize how good Bucknell really is.

The thang is, when my Kansas team lost to Bucknell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in '05, I was the laughingstock of college basketball. All the KU haters were in 7th heaven and KU fans were basically despondent.

You see, the thang is, I kept tellin' everybody that losin' to Bucknell was nothin' to be embarrassed about.

They're a great basketball team. And a great basketball program.

And here's the thang: the thang is that I had my hands tied because I was stuck with the crappy players that Roy Williams left behind.

That's not ohn me. It's ohn Roy.

But yeah, Bucknell could win it all.

That's how good that team is.

And here I am, three years later and I still gotta defend myself for losin' that game.
