Tonight, Championship Week will lift off and enter rarefied air, as three more NCAA Tournament bids are up for grabs. Bubble teams around the nation will be watching the night's first contest intently, as Butler hosts Cleveland State (Who hasn't been received a big dance tickets in almost two decades.
The game with the most intrigue, however, will be slugged out in Tulsa, Oklahoma tonight. Ron Hunter's IUPUI Jaguars - ooey pooey as they say around these parts - have an uphill climb against host Oral Roberts. If you have the time, check out IUPUI PG George Hill, who has nitrous oxide (he's pretty fast) running through his veins.
The Sun Belt will coronate a new conference tournament champion this year, as Western Kentucky gets a shot to receive an automatic bid against a mysterious Middle Tennessee team. Host South Alabama, who will be sweating it out big time on Selection Sunday, bowed out against those pesky Blue Raiders in the semifinals.
Tomorrow will mark the official start to conference tournaments for the "Big Boys," but the results tonight - and especially in Hinkle Fieldhouse - will go a long way towards the postseason hopes for some high majors.
