Today, Indiana introduced Tom Crean as its new men's basketball coach. Prior to his arrival in Bloomington, Crean was the head coach at Marquette since the 1999/2000 season. Crean guided Marquette to the Final Four in 2003.
Basketball commentary with an emphasis on the college game. Because basketball is Life.
Welcome to Drive and Dish. This blog is about basketball, with an emphasis on the college game. The name Drive and Dish refers to a basketball move in which the player with the ball drives to the basket, draws defenders, and finds (dishes the ball to) an open offensive player for an easy shot-and, presumably, easy basket. The drive and dish is one of the most beautiful things in sports. It seamlessly combines individual skill and teamwork.
The game of basketball is all about individual skill and teamwork. Offenses use ball movement to catch defenders off guard in order to get good shots. Defensively, teams get in your face, hoping to force opponents into bad decision making and turnovers. The game is fast-paced and hard-nosed. Every possession counts.
Drive & Dish covers it all: from tip-off 'til the nets get cut down. And, as our name implies, we take it strong to the goal and dish (commentary) with flair.

This is a good hire. This guy commands respect. Indiana has a long way back on the road to respectability, but Crean brings a presence. He could use some more stylish glasses, though.
Lunkhead,
I agree. But in addition to more stylish glasses, he might want to look into parting his hair somewhere other than down the middle. It's not 1983 anymore.
