Curry Held Scoreless in Bizarre Davidson Win

Tuesday night, Loyola (Md) had an unconventional plan for stopping Davidson's star guard Stephen Curry: they double teamed him on every possession, everywhere on the court, for the entire game. And it worked. Curry was held scoreless. But, left with a 4 on 3 advantage for 40 minutes, the rest of his Davidson teammates steamrolled Loyola 78-48.

Loyola head coach Jimmy Patsos offered an explanation for his unconventional -- if not off the wall -- strategy:

“We had to play against an NBA player tonight,” Patsos explained. “Anybody else ever hold him scoreless? I’m a history major. They’re going to remember that we held him scoreless or we lost by 30?”

OK. I guess that's one way to look at it. But after Tuesday night's stunt, it's probably fair to say that when the college basketball season concludes, and Athletic Directors look to fill coaching vacancies, Jimmy Patsos' name won't be on many ADs' short lists.

dude, i been held scoreless lately.

tonite, the hot thai chik from chicago who i met on match.com told me that she wants to take a break from seeing eachother. im freakin depressed, dude. ya, i know........we only went on 5 dates, so alot of people are like "she wasnt actually your girlfriend yet cuz you guys only went out a few times". but i thought this chick was totally into me. everything was going great until tonight. i mean, we just clicked. she was the one. i knew it on the first date. i really fell hard for her and i even told her i loved her on our third date. after that i didn't see her for a while cuz she went out of town and had to cancel like 4 or 5 dates, plus her phone didn't work for a few weeks, so she didn't return any of my calls. but that was understandable, since her phone wasn't workin. i hadn't herd from her for almost a month, but then out of the blue, she calls me on wednesday night. she said that she was out at a club partying with kyle orton and some nba players, and somehow she got lost and ended up in some nba player's hotel room in chicago. and the wierd thing is that the nba player kicked her out of his room, but she lost her purse and didn't have money for a cab ride home.....all she had on her was her cellphone. so she called me and asked if i could drive her home. so i drove to chicago. it took me 4 hours, but i got there at 4 in the morning. and i got there just in time .... all the stress must have caused her to get sick to her stomach and faint cuz she was out cold on the sidewalk next to the hotel. i found her sprawled out on the sidewalk in a puddle of vomit. so i took her home, and made sure she was safe. then i drove back to iowa, but she called me and asked me to bring her some breakfast and some advil for her headache. so i turned around and drove back to chicago. it was around 10:00am when i got to her apartment with the advil, so we went out for brunch and bloody marys at a place on milwaukee ave called d-luxe (i'm a gentleman, so i treated, of course).

after that, she called me and asked me to take her out to dinner twice this week. so i figured we were, you know, like boyfriend and girlfriend, or something. so i called her last night to ask her out. something must have come up, cuz she didn't return my call. maybe her phone went out again. anyhoo, she called me today and asked me if i wanted to go shopping. so i drove to chicago, and we went shopping on michigan avenue and oak street. i spent about $15 grand on her today, so i figured we were on for dinner tonight. but after we got done shopping, she told me that she needed space and wanted to take a break for awhile.

so im cryin' in my beer tonite. i havent scored in a long time. im in a long dry spell.

this curry kid prolly scored 25 or 30 points in his next game out. i dont see myself scoring any time soon.
